Anniversary Lunch with The Hawksmoor Edinburgh

September 7, 2018

We did it! We survived 3 years together, adding Cailyn to the mix one year in has definitely kept us on our toes but it’s been amazing.

On Saturday we were lucky enough to be invited along to The Hawksmoor at The Edinburgh Grand, which is just stunning.

I recently got the chance to attend a private event in the penthouse with Taylor Morris Eyewear and I can tell you now the building is gorgeous.

Chris has actually done some design work within The Hawksmoor & The Edinburgh Grand with roof lights and roof details, so he enjoyed actually getting to see his work completed.

We took Cailyn along with us and sat down to enjoy a 3 course lunch .... which we didn’t even have because the menu was so amazing we decided to stick to mains & puddings.

As usual, Cailyn had fallen asleep so we got to enjoy most of our main before she woke.

Firstly, I just want to say how much I love older buildings in Edinburgh and The Hawksmoor is just that. It’s filled with marble and the layout which represents, what I believe to be an old bank.

It certainly does make the most beautiful restaurant.

So, the food.... after all that’s what you want to read about, right?

I ordered the Hake for my main with a side of Creamed Spinach. For Cailyn we ordered Three Cheese Macaroni & Triple Cooked Chips. Chris, well he most definitely had the Steak, Rump with a side of Wild Field Mushrooms.... yum!

Take a look through our photos:

I can’t express how much we all enjoyed the food, it was presented well, cooked to perfection and definitely what the doctor ordered, for all of us.

We will most certainly be back with family, friends and of course for a date night, we were very impressed.

For pudding, we decided to order a The White Chocolate Cheesecake with Summer Berries, Passion fruit & Coconut Pavlova & The Ambassador. The plan was to try some of each, however Cailyn finished 90% of the Cheesecake so that’s a fantastic effort for her. All extremely yummy & delicious!

We fully enjoyed our afternoon. It was really relaxed and we left feeling happy, content.

The Hawksmoor is family friendly with wooden high chairs for children and the most friendly staff who really take the time to interact with the kids. We love this as it’s nice to see in restaurants and as a family it’s a great plus point.

They also do something pretty special too. When you buy an Ambassador Pudding,

50p of each one served goes to Social Bite which is a local charity that supports homeless people in Edinburgh. Social Bite do lots of amazing things so if you’re ever looking to get involved or help out in any way be sure to contact them for ways to do so. They truly do some incredible work.

If you're looking for something great to do this weekend then get along and book a table, you won't regret it!

I've put together some images of the restaurant and menus below:
