Beautiful , Elegant and just Perfect!
This is how our Saturday was while we spent our lunch in the new Grand Cafe at The Scotsman Hotel.
The service was fantastic, the staff were very polite, great with Cailyn, who just wanted to explore & dance to the music from the pianist. So peaceful and beautiful for any occasion, We loved it and really can't wait to return with friends and family.
We were taken to one of the booths which was a great location to be as you can see the whole restaurant & floor above which was fantastic for Cailyn to sit and people watch as we enjoyed our lunch.
The kids menu is fantastic as its like a little book, filled with fun things for the kids to do, from word searches, dot to dots and colouring in. Let them choose their food from the menu and make it fun for them too. Milk & Cookies was a favourite along with the very tasty Fish which came out at the right temperature for Cailyn. This is a massive plus point as there's nothing worse than waiting a while for your child's food to cool when they just want to eat it.
Massive well done to the kitchen for this!
The atmosphere is great I must say. It’s such a beautiful place for families, dates, traveling guests, passers by & after work treats! You can book a table for after work drinks which is a great way to end the day in the office for sure and make use of the tables by the main door that open on warm days to enjoy some city views.
There’s marble everywhere you look and I love that you can feel the age of the building. They really have kept that famous character and charm. One of the most iconic buildings in Edinburgh with the most amazing history and memories. Not one to be missed!
Did you know that the Grand Cafe was once the home of the Advertising & Notices Dept. of the famous Scotsman Newspaper - the bustling, beating heart of the publication. Over 50 years later, they are set to start a new story in this space, with the opening of the Grand Café.
The Café offer evolves throughout the day, from a bustling brunch service which runs until 5pm, all the way through to smart cocktails and live jazz and piano until the wee hours.
We love it! I can't recommend it enough! We’ll be back again soon to enjoy what is becoming one of my favourites places to dine in Edinburgh, with and without Cailyn.
Perhaps I should book myself and Chris in for a stay one night to fully enjoy some us time and experience the hotel fully. That's definitely a good way to practice self care.
I’ve put together a gallery of our lunch and added some of the fantastic images from their site which is a must see due to the luxurious feel and attention to detail.
