A Late Lunch at The Ivy!

February 28, 2018

Now, as you all know we never get out together as much as we deserve so this was a fantastic opportunity that we could do together at the weekend!

A late lunch at The Ivy on the square!

Cailyn slept the whole time we ordered and ate! Would you even believe it?

We were able to enjoy a lovely peaceful experience and actually have a date!

It really was fantastic. The food was cooked and served to perfection with attention to detail in every way possible.

The staff were polite, well informed, well dressed, clean, sharp and extremely professional with a lovely friendly manner.

We honestly can’t thank the Ivy enough for a brilliant time and a massive well done to all staff here is definitely deserved!

This was the second time I’ve been here so it was great to take Chris along and enjoy it together. I had the chance to sample their Discovery cocktail which was the most beautiful creation with a kick.

This time it was all about the food and wow did this impress.

I had the Salmon Fillet with a side of Truffle & Parmesan Fries. This was cooked well done as I’d asked and one of the best plates I’ve had in a long time!

Chris had the Steak - Medium/Rare with a side of Lemon Broccoli. He is a massive steak fan and loves trying out various restaurants all over Edinburgh so I can truly say this, in his opinion, was his favourite!

For our drinks We enjoyed The Iced Coffee, I had a white New Zealand wine (waitress’s choice) and a glass of The Ivy’s Champagne which was beautiful.

Our deserts, well they were out of this world!

Chris ordered the Frozen Berries & Yogurt Sorbet with White Chocolate Sauce. He forgot to take a photo as he was just so impressed with how they poured the sauce over the desert for him, he couldn’t stop talking about it for the rest of the day! I can confirm it was beautiful, fruity, zesty and definitely one of those delicious deserts that quench your thirst and cravings.

I ordered the Melting Chocolate Bomb!

Yeah that’s right, Melting Chocolate, right in front of your face.

It was incredible, pretty and quite x-rated!

It was covered in a warm Butterscotch Sauce, as the Chocolate Bomb melted you discovered a lovely Ice Cream and Chocolate Mousse. The Bomb was placed on a bed of creamy Sauce with Honey Comb inside. This was definitely the best desert I’ve ever had! The perfect mix for any Chocolate lover!

So would we recommend The Ivy on the square?..........YES!

Go and enjoy as it’s the most beautiful building and has the prettiest interior with the best staff, food and atmosphere around town. Perfect for the summer with the outside seating area and views of St Andrews Square.

10/10 from us!
