It was the night before Christmas.....
We were all full and exhausted after a family feast in Lockerbie. The food was eaten and the laughs where many!
One thing you can always count on is the continuous laughter thanks to Cailyn and her funny ways. It’s great to see older family members experience this with her.
We shared the most amazing Christmas cupcakes from the one and only Cuckoo’s Bakery at Bruntsfield.
If you haven’t tried their cakes ... what have you been doing? They are the best in the city in my opinion.
As we traveled home and got ourself settled for the night we got the apartment ready for Santa’s arrival. I dressed the table, polished the glasses and made Christmas trees out of napkins for the table. Pulling out the old waitress skills there.
As Cailyn got tucked Into bed I began to arrange the presents around the living room. Her face in the morning was just perfect! Wow ... wow ... yayyyyy
For a one year old she sure does have the knowledge of an older age. She won’t understand “Christmas” but when she sees things and it excites her, the reaction is just amazing.
We had the best 4 days of seeing family and having fun, which is what it’s all about!
It’s not about what’s under the tree it’s about who is around it.
We set off on the 27th December for some of our own little family time. Just myself, Chris and Cailyn. I had booked us into the beautiful Macdonald Aviemore Resort for 3 nights and I’m so glad I did, it was perfect!
The food was great, the staff where brilliant, the views where to die for and the options of things to do was plenty. Seeing Cailyn enjoy the snow was the most amazing part. So many memories.
We will definitely return next year!
Anyone looking to get away - do it! Get booked in, It’s gorgeous.
I will be writing a full review of the resort and what we did while we where there so keep a look out on the blog - not to be missed!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
